- All activities are led by internationally qualified instructors & guides.
- Imagine Japan is an official Niseko United Affiliated, and Rusutsu accredited Ski School.
- Insurance is provided for all guests joining Imagine Japan’s activities – for injury cover, liability, emergency rescue (including snowmobile & helicopter), medical costs – on piste and in backcountry.
- All lessons with Imagine Japan are conducted in English.
- Private lessons will have the same instructor allocated for multiple days wherever possible. We will advise if it is not possible before confirming a booking. Please be aware, forces out of our control such as illness or injury to the instructor may make this impossible at late notice.
- If conditions are unsafe for guiding (bad weather or dangerous snow conditions), we will make every effort to reschedule. If rescheduling is not possible. cancellation with refund will be arranged.
- We will consider requests to reschedule if conditions are unfavourable (subject to availability), however this may not be possible – if suitable lifts are open to access the appropriate terrain for a lesson, then lessons can proceed, we can usually still ski on rainy / windy days.
- If there is a “no-show”, or if our guides or instructors have been waiting for 30+ minutes with no contact from guests, the entire lesson or guiding booking is treated as a cancellation. There will be no refund or reschedule available in this case.
- If cancellation is requested up to 8 days before a lesson/service begins – full refund less a ¥5,000 admin fee.
- If cancellation is requested between 7 days and lesson/service start time – no refund will apply.
- If reducing a booking, the above cancellation policies apply to the reduced portion of the booking.
- Bookings are transferable – Imagine will permit late notice changes of a booking to another person – pending the new guest is of same or lower ability.
- Rescheduling may be possible – subject to availability. If it is not possible, booking is held by above cancellation policy.
- If a rescheduled booking is subsequently cancelled, no refund is available if the original deadline for cancellation has already passed.
- No Cancellation or Refund will be given by Imagine to cover late notice cancellation fees, travel delay, illness or injury.
- Travel insurance strongly advised to cover late notice cancellation fees, travel delay, illness or injury.
- Lift passes and equipment rental are not included – these must be arranged separately.
- We require advance notice of any medical or dietary issues – please update at time of booking.
- Guests with special/extra needs will require a premium instructor – please note as much information as possible at time of booking.
- All children must be toilet trained, and expect to communicate / receive tuition in English.
- We will only accept 2 and 3 year old students in a private lesson only if there is a parent or carer present.
- Children between 2-5 years old are required to have a parent or carer nearby in case of toileting or other needs.
- Young (2-3 year old) children each need to have individual instructor (they cannot balance alone). Flexi 2 or 3 hour lessons are recommended – please book 1 private lesson per child of this age.
- Avalanche safety gear is mandatory for backcountry guiding. Guests can rent this from Imagine, subject to availability, please add on at time of booking.
- Skiers and snowboarders cannot attend the same lesson.
- Lessons will proceed at the pace of the weakest/slowest member.
- Mixed ability levels are not permitted in the same lesson. Please book one instructor per ability level.
- Snowsports activities inherently involve risk. All guests must understand they are participating in activities at their own risk. By attending an Imagine Japan session, the guest agrees to release Imagine Japan, our staff, suppliers & booking agents from any liability for incidents that may occur during their booking before attending our lessons or guiding.
- We require WhatsApp contact information to proceed with a booking. Imagine Guest Services and instructors will reach out directly to guests via WhatsApp the evening before a lesson start to ensure everyone is prepared, and to reconfirm all arrangements.
- Regarding van pickups from accommodation – exact pickup times are subject to change for any number of reasons including road conditions, weather, or other logistical situations. We will maintain direct contact with guests to ensure smooth arrangements.
- When booking ski concierge, transport is only provided directly before the lesson and a drop off is provided directly after. For other transport needs, please call a taxi.
- Guests are required to be wearing all ski gear including boots when travelling via ski concierge. Our drivers cannot wait at a location more than 5 minutes. If time runs out, our drivers will need to move on to their next pickup. Guests who are late for their arranged pickup will receive reduced lesson time as lesson start and finish times are fixed.
- If a guest is late to start the lesson, the finishing time will not be be extended. Please be on time and ready to go, to receive the full value of your booking!
- If Imagine Japan is responsible for a late start, we will make every effort to ensure guests receive the full duration of their booking. In the event that this may not be possible, we will make arrangements to either reschedule with additional time, or provide an appropriate refund.
- If on the day there is only one guest booked in a group lesson or kids club, Imagine Guest Services will contact the guest directly and offer: complimentary upgrade to 2 hour private lesson or for the guest to pay for an additional spot in the lesson for it to run as a full day group lesson/full day kids club. – please note if the guest opts to pay for the second spot this will be charged at group lesson rate/kids club rate on the day and not subject to any early bird or original booking rate – the guest will be charged directly by Imagine for the second spot.

- Niseko United: We have Instructors on STANDBY on snow at .base everyday ready to take short notice bookings on both ski and snowboard. These can start at .Base, King Gondola, Family or Ski out hotel in Hirafu – please note hotel name in accom name field
- Standby instructors are in uniform ready to begin a lesson
- Within 30 mins of the booking – please contact Imagine by phone to confirm availability
- Niseko United: FLEXI lessons are for your guest looking for ultimate flexibility on their holiday. Need a short duration, flexible start time, want to start at a different location each day? Flexi lesson is for these guests. Start time and location can be updated until 3pm the day before the lesson
- Ski concierge transport is available for all guests – please book this as an add on
- Hirafu: All group lessons are FULL DAY and run 9-3 from .Base
- Hirafu: Kids group lessons: Snowboard 7-14 years, Ski 6-14 years
- HELMETS are MANDATORY for all children attending lessons under 18 years old.
- All bookings require a WhatsApp contact number. Our team will use this to introduce the instructor to the guest the evening before the lesson
- Hirafu: When booking evening concierge please note this is not an on call service, this is pre booked for pickup and return times – all guests must exit the vehicle by 10pm
- Hirafu/Kutchan: Child minding is available for children who are toilet trained
- Child minding is provided by Imagine Ski + Snowboard instructors
- All Imagine Instructors have a valid and clear background check from their main country of residence
- All lessons are schedule to start and finish from the initial meeting location. If guests want to finish from a different location the instructor will have to leave the guest early; this is to ensure the instructor can return to the initial meeting point by lesson end time, ready for their next booking.
- Evening concierge: Imagine Guest services will liase with guests directly to confirm pick up times and movements throughout the evening
